In Memorial: Calvin 1997-October 15,2002
Rest in Peace.
Scott and I had to make a very hard decision today. Calvin wasn’t getting better so we had to put him to sleep this evening. I have had him to the vet several times in the past two months but everything we were doing didn’t seem to help.
We were going to have him tested for Addison’s Disease but he wasn’t eating or drinking. The vet gave him a couple of cortisone shots and it
seemed to work well the first time, the second time it only helped him for about 5 days. I don’t know what to say other than it was the hardest decision I’ve had to come to. Our vet said that he was probably at the point where what we did would only improve his quality of life for a short time. I’m so sorry. It isn’t going to be the same without his goofy face staring at me telling me it’s time to eat or that he has to go potty.
