UPDATE 06/29/08: Peyton has proved to be a very nice girl. We have been dog-sitting two Bichon Frise pups (7 and 9 months) and after the 1st hour, Peyton started pLaying very appropriately with them. She lies down when
playing with them so they are on the same level. I took her to another obedience class and Peyton did great. Everyone in class is impressed with her. Peyton is a very smart girl. Peyton sleeps in her crate at night and is crated during the day when we are not there. Shes a great little girl.

UPDATE 6/23/08: It is official, Peyton will jump a fence just for the fun of it. I took all of the dogs outside when I got home from work. Everyone went potty and they were just basically milling around. I was watching one of my boxers from across the yard, (she looked nice in the sun), and I turn my head and Peyton is going over the fence. She ran straight to the neighbors fence (we have an alley between us) and sniffed around. Our neighbor does not have a dog, but Peyton does like him. The neighbor was not even outside! I opened the back gate, called her to me, she came, and I brought her back inside the fence. Needless to say, Peytons forever home will need to have a 6 fence.

UPDATE 6/6/08: Peyton went to dog school today and met about 20 dogs. She was wonderful meeting the new dogs, very appropriate. Everyone kept asking how such a nice girl could end up in rescue. Peyton does appear to know a few commands such as sit, down, and stay. Since it was so hot, she and her foster boxer brother spent a good deal of time at school doing a down stay in front of a huge fan. At home Peyton has been playing with toys, crates well, eats well and has only had one accident. Peyton is also good with our cat. Peyton does not tear up her toys, (at least not yet), and does not dig holes in the yard. She seems to be a pretty good girl.

UPDATE 05/19/08: Peyton is doing great. She is completely housebroken & never has any accidents. The hamster that we have now drives her nuts - she keeps barking at the cage when its active it night. Otherwise, she is very content to flop down and take a nap. She LOVES food & it’s hard to believe she was so skinny at one time. She’s just very happy to be in home where she’s fed, warm & loved on.

Peyton was born sometime in Nov/Dec 2006 & is quite the little girl. (And she is small.) She would probably do best in a home with older children, as she gets confused and sometimes thinks toddlers are her playmates -- she’ll knock them over unintentionally, and since she’s still really a puppy, she can get a little too wound up with the smaller children. She will play with her foster boxer brother, but seems equally happy without a playmate. She’s perfectly content to lie on a pillow and soak in her surroundings, or chew on a bone. If she thought she could get away with it, she would most certainly crawl up on the couch for a little nap. During the holidays, she did very well with visitors to her foster home. Peyton loves receiving affection and is still looking for her forever family. Is there some snuggle room in your heart for Peyton?
