FOSTER HOME UPDATE: Daphne has turned into a daddy?s girl. Leaving her home with her foster dad last weekend left them to bond. She thinks he?s the best thing since
sliced bread. We are working on obedience. At first she was not catching on at all and I thought she was a real dummy, but then all of a sudden she caught on to ?sit?. Seems like we have to have a session on one command and she just soaks it in. Next day Daphne seems to have figured it out. Daphne is very good with the dogs and our cat. She crates well sleeps through the night. I think she has put on all of the weight that she needs. She has a very good appetite. Daphne is a counter surfer and a bit of a thief. She likes the toy from the retreat and just carries it around. She is not playing with toys yet. Daphne has shown no inclination to jump the fence. I don?t think that is an issue any more.
FOSTER HOME UPDATE: Daphne is 2-3 years, flashy fawn. She is one of those tall thin girls and needs a few pounds. She eats like every meal is going to be her last. Daphne has met the dogs and the cat. She is good with our dogs but since the cat ran, she now hunts for the cat when she?s let outside. Daphne can be re-directed. We are letting Daphne out most of the day time hours now and she spends her time on the dog bed of whatever room we are in. She is a pretty smart girl. She?s already learned kennel up, and comes when called. We?ve had no accidents in the house, she?s goes potty every time we take her outside, then she wants right back in the house. I?ve seen no evidence of fence jumping. Daphne has not played with any toys yet, but she keeps sticking her nose in the toy box and checking things out, so hopefully that?s something she?ll start doing soon. We will start some basic obedience this week.
Daphne came from a local shelter, unclaimed by her owners. She?s estimated to be around 2-3 yrs old. Daphne will be settling in her foster home in a few days & more will be added as they get to know her.
