Update 2-24-08: Cooper has received the all clear from the vet and is ready for his new home. On his first trip in the backyard off lead he showed his foster mom how well he was feeling by jumping her 4 foot chain link fence. Therefore, he will need a privacy fence! He is doing wonderful and very excited that he can finally play the female boxer in the home. He is doing great in obedience class but his favorite part is to roll on his back for everyone to scratch his belly. The instructor described Cooper as a big goofy boy that does not have his final brain cell and may not ever get it!

Update 1-5-08: Cooper is healing nicely from his broken leg but healing slowly. The vet has stated he needs another month of crate rest with limited activity. He has approved that Cooper attend obedience class as long as it is nothing very active. Cooper will start this week. Cooper?s foster family has discoverd that Cooper does not like cats so a no cat home is a must. Cooper is gaining weight and doing well. If you would like to add a sweet older boy to your home, please inquire on Cooper.

Cooper was transferred to our rescue from an animal control after being hit by a car. He has been seen by our rescue vet, his leg plated, his teeth cleaned, given a complete physical and neutered. He is heartworm negative and on his preventative. Due to having a plate put in his leg, he is confined to his crate for 4 weeks to restrict his movement and aid in his healing per the vet. Despite all this, his personality seems to be a happy one. We will not learn much until his restriction is over but for now, he seems to be an easy going boy that is good with everyone. Once he is healed, he will undergo a SAFER exam and we will post more. Cooper will not be available for at least 8 weeks to allow his leg to heal. He will need a fenced yard.

Applications can be found www.midwestboxerrescues.com or email BSROzarks@gmail.com for more details. Donations are also being accepted to assist in paying for his surgery. Email for more details on how to donate.
