Foster update 03/23/07
Diesel has already mastered the word sit. He also knows that when we come in from doing his duties outside that everybody sits next to the closet door for their treat without being told. He kennels well with little back talk. I am still yet to hear him bark or growl. He reminds me of my 2nd Boxer that never did growl at anything in 10 years of life. Diesel thinks everything is
a game and may never find anything to growl about. He is still pretty puppy-ish for a full grown dog. He is a lot of dog to work with though since he is oblivious to being told "get down" (off of my couch) and "off" (of me and my dogs). We all still like him anyway and I?m hoping he will learn some of the good manners that my dogs do possess.

I was able to come home with a steak meal to eat for lunch today and I fully expected him to be in the middle of my lap eating my dinner but he didn?t! He went and laid down on the other side of the room without being told. Two things I can?t stand a dog to do......lick me compulsively or sit in front of me staring and drooling while I eat. I?m proud of him for passing the steak dinner test.

**FOSTER UDPATE 04/29/2007**
Diesel has proved himself to be a quick learning dog. With only a handful of treats and repetitions he learned lay down, shake, stay,
come and how to give hugs all within 15 minutes of training. He has a bad habit of jumping up on people to greet them so that is why I have thrown the hug command in with the hopes that he can learn to do it with someone asking him first. He is a very tall dog standing 25"-26" and weighs around 65-68 lbs. He is nothing more than an over grown puppy by nature. He loves to play outdoors with toys and my dogs. He requires lots of exercise and is not a rainy day dog! When the weather is bad he gets stuck with a lot of pent up energy. We are still working on the housebreaking and he is getting better. He does play somewhat rough and tends to not understand when another dog is telling him that?s enough but he means well! Diesel is fun and entertaining to have around and will be a true joy for his future
family..**

Diesel is estimated to be around 2 years old and was never reclaimed by his owners from a large urban shelter. Diesel is a white boxer, but can hear and appears to be a healthy puppy. Contact MoKan Boxer Rescue at: mokanboxerrescue@earthlink.net
