Awwww....Look at that picture. Isn’t he just the sweetest, most innocent looking dog you’ve ever seen? Doesn’t he look like a perfect angel, a dog that never does anything bad? Ya Think?!?! He looks so sweet and innocent because he’s sleeping, which is the only time he slows down. Look at picture number two. THAT’S the real Frankie!!! Wild, crazy, energetic, unruly, challenged in the manners area and did I mention Wild AND Crazy?!?!?! Frankie is approximately 11-12 months old. He came to us terribly thin, suffering from mange and plagued with an intestinal condition that’s been difficult to get a handle on. He’s put on much needed weight, but could still use a couple of more pounds. He’s coming along with housetraining, but will still have occasional accidents. Frankie is doing well with crate training, but it’s not his favorite place to be. For the first couple of weeks, he wasn’t sure what to think of the other dogs in his foster home, but they quickly won him over and have been teaching him about proper Boxer play and toys. Frankie has been an eager student!! Frankie will need a patient home, one without small children, willing to take obedience classes and maybe more than one class. He is a good and loving dog, but he is young and he is WILD. Continued work on housetraining is also going to be needed. His foster home is working with him to train him to ring the bell to go outside and Frankie is slowly grasping this concept. Although, I wouldn’t say he’s the sharpest tool in the shed, he’s a sweet boy who will do well in the right environment. If you’ve never owned a Boxer before, he’s probably not the right dog for you. Even if you have owned Boxers before, he’s going to be a challenge and not the right dog for everyone. I suspect he will continue to be "challenging" for awhile yet!!
