**Foster homes update 12/6/04**
Autumn seems to be doing very well. She was a bit nervous her first night & paced the floor a lot, but has since figured out that a nap or
just laying down isn’t so bad. I have yet to figure out where her on& off switch is for that energizer tail--non stop!
She knows what bones are, but doesn’t really seen interested or know what to do with the other toys. My male, Trent, has tried to initiate
play, but she just looks at him. She’ll probably catch on soon.
She enjoys the outside running & kicking up her back legs.
She must not have had too much interaction with people who loved her. She wants to be hugged & held a lot. Her "held" though is like holding
a vibrating toy--she’s wiggle worm--it’s all in that tail!
I’ve heard of having the "pee scared out of you"--now I’ve seen it! She does not like vacuum cleaners. She ran around the house looking for a
place to hide. I shut it off & went to comfort her--she had jumped on top of the bed & urinated. She felt bad. She also earlier that day got barked at by Trent for trying to take the bone he was chewing on--she rolled over on her back & urinated. Somebody must have really scared
her in the past???
She is such a people pleasing dog. She has really bonded with my guy friend. Every time she sees him she does not leave his side. She
definitely likes men.
She is a typical female finicky eater. She does not like to be rushed nor does she want to eat very much. I have bought canned food to try &
entice her to eat.
Autumn doesn’t much like being in her crate. She pushes on the bottom to try to work the latch. She eventually tires & lays down.
Overall, Autumn is a great kid. She & I are going to work on sitting & walking on a lead. She & Trent are going to figure out the play thing. I think she’s going to be a great kid for someone!***

Autumn is an approximately 3 year old flashy female female that was pulled from a large urban shelter on a medical pull. Unfortunately, someone felt that tying this poor little girl up by a collar was a good thing, and it had to be surgically removed as it became embedded in her throat.
Autumn will be held at our vet clinic until we can find a foster home for her, and until she heals a little from her throat injury.
