1/10/04 - Foster Home Update: Cassi is doing well. She is a very active girl and will do best in a home with another dog and a family around. Compared to Cassi, the Energizer Bunny is a slacker. This girl has an abundance of energy, but she’s very loving and just a little on the needy side. She has a little crate anxiety, but nothing too extreme. She can be an escape artist, so a home with a six foot privacy fence is being sought for her. Her housetraining is coming along well and she is fairly reliable, but will need supervision in her new home.
Cassi came to us from a shelter in Wichita, KS. She is a typical young, active Boxer girl who has obviously not been treated well in her young life. We are guessing Cassi to be around 8 months old. She was extremely thin when she came to us and had some nasty lacertaions to her neck that were either made by a too small collar or a chain, digging into her neck. These wounds are just about healed up and she is slowly putting on weight. Cassie has probably not spent anytime indoors and we are working on housetraining and crate training. She is slowly getting the hang of these two important issues. Cassie is very sweet and eager to please. She is a very typical Boxer puppy, with lots of bouncing, chewing and occasional accidents in the house. Her adoptive home will need to be willing to deal with these typical puppy traits as well as attend a basic obedience class.
