Description
|
9/23/08 Apollo is settling into his foster home very well. He gets along great with his two foster sisters (both boxers). He has been introduced to a few other dogs, and seems to do all right as long as the introduction is slow and in short spurts. He can get noisy at times but it is all in good play. Apollo listens very well; he knows his name and comes when he is called, he also knows: “sit”, “lay down”, and most importantly “no”. He is house broken, and crate trained he will go into his crate just by saying “kennel”. He has had no attempts or to jump over our chain link fence, even when tempted by a neighbor dog. He is a lover and a cuddler, and an attention hog. Sometimes he thinks he is a lap dog. He does great with new people and has had interactions with children, but he can be a little rowdy at times so small children may get knocked over by Apollo or he may smother them with kisses. His favorite thing to do is run up and down our stairs with his purple squeaky toy and have his foster sister chase him.
Apollo is a sweet young Boxer boy who is 10 months old. He and his brother Zeus are brand new to our program, so we are just getting to know them, but they seem like very typical young Boxer boys. Apollo is crate trained and fairly reliable on his housetraining. They have had exposure to a younger child, but being puppies, they can be kind of wild and that needs to be considered when children are around. Of the two litter mates, Apollo is definitely the wilder of the two and will probably require a little more work. A physically fenced yard and a commitment to complete a fun type, group obedience class will be required to adopt Apollo.
