UPDATE 7-12-10 Dakota is a true romantic at heart. She is looking for someone to love. She would like nothing more than to stare lovingly into your eyes, take long walks, lean against you, go where you go, and be a part of your life. She would be an excellent companion dog. She is a little shy especially around men due to her past. However, she wants so much to come see you that it’s not long and she is ready to be petted and your friend whether you are male or female. She loves children of all ages.
Isn’t she cute? isn’t she sweet? This is the one that you want to meet !?!
UPDATE 5-25-10 Dakota is now off her meds for the nail problem that she no longer seems to be exhibiting. We are still watching to make sure that her nails do not flair up again. Her foster home reports that she is such a sweet girl and once she warms up to men, she loves to snuggle with them.
Dakota was previously placed through MVBR but was returned through no fault of her own. Her family was moving and was unable to take her or her brother Tyson with them. Dakota is an approximately 5 y.o. female Boxer who has seen some hard times. She came from a small town shelter and was afraid of everyone and everything. Once Dakota settles in, shes almost normal, but still gets skittish around new people, especially men. Dakota does well with other dogs and is quick to bond with women. Once you earn her trust, you will have a friend for life!! In order to adopt Dakota you will need a physically fenced yard and be willing to complete a fun type, group obedience class.
