Description
* *ADOPTION PENDING* *

Dax is new to our program as of 3/7/10 and came from a shelter near the MO line. Dax had been running around in an area for about a week, fending for himself. He would not approach people, and they considered setting a humane trap for him. Dax met a little girl one day and decided he trusted her, so his confidence with her allowed him to be picked up and taken to the shelter for safety.

Since Dax is brand new to our program, we do not know that much about his wants or needs. What we do know is that he is really a small boy that seems very sweet (even though he is still fairly shy or reserved). When we say he is small, we mean small for a male Boxer. BUT, this is truly about a knee-high little dude, and he weighs right at 45 lbs. We think Dax is approximately 2-3 years old and will be a relatively calm boy.

Dax is already gaining confidence in his foster home and seems to do well -- actually, THRIVE -- with his foster fur companions. We think Dax needs another female dog companion in his new home to help him continue to gain confidence and be all the little Boxer that he can be. :-) We do not know how Dax is with cats, as his foster home does not have cats. However, he was around cats at his shelter, and it is *possible* that he could live with them. He seemed interested but easily distracted. We would need to do a more thorough cat-test if getting along with cats is a requirement for his new home. We will report more on Dax as we get to know him a little better and hope he will be available for adoption around the first part of April.
