* *ADOPTION PENDING* *
UPDATE 12/13/09: Edison is growing like a weed. He is about 50 pounds now and as you can tell from his gangly appearance he has some more growing to do. He is quite friendly and behaves well in public. Hes had the opportunity to be around children on several occasions and loves being with them. He is housebroken but still has the occasional accident in his kennel. We have not had the opportunity to go on too many walks but the few times weve taken him out, he has done well. When he has pulled a simple flick of the leash and the heal command gets him back on track. He travels great in the car and allows us to put his seatbelt harness on without any fuss. He loves to play outside, run around the yard, and sometimes relax on the deck and sunbathe.
UPDATE 10/7/09: In the month Edison has been in our home he has gotten over the respiratory infection he picked up in the shelter and is now a healthy & energetic puppy. He gets along great with his foster siblings, a male and female boxer. Edison seems to equally love playing with his boxer siblings and snuggling with his foster parents. Edison also lives with two cats. As the month has gone on, his playful interest in the cats has decreased and he’s made progress learning the “No Kitty” command. Crate training is going well. Although he is sometimes reluctant to go in his kennel, he’s easily persuaded with a treat. Edison is doing great learning basic commands (“sit”, “down” and “stay”) and he’s currently working on “roll-over.” Edison has had the opportunity to be around a group of six & seven year olds and he, and the kids, enjoyed every minute of it. Edison will make a wonderful addition to any family.
Edison is a plain fawn male that was born sometime in April 2009. Poor little guy ended up in a large shelter and has really been sick because of it, but we hope he is on the road to recovery.
