* * ADOPTION PENDING * *
UPDATE 7/6/09: Lyric just keeps getting a bit more confident every day. When I get home from
work, she greets me with a wiggling butt and will come up and touch my hand. I sometimes catch Lyric doing things that a puppy would do, like barking at our shoes if we leave them in the living room. Shell bark and pounce
at them, then try to carry one back to her "safe" spot. Occasionally when Im
in the kitchen, I can hear her playing in the living room with the other dogs, but when I peek my head around the corner it stops. She is a very discreet little lady and shell do best in a home with a doggie brother to learn from.
UPDATE 4/30/09: Lyric has been in her new foster home just over three weeks now. She took a step back when first moved, but shes gaining confidence every day. She seems to enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood and is really very good on the leash. She does have to be asked to participate in activities. If left to her own, she would stay in one spot on the couch for hours. Although she is making progress daily, she is still shy. But have you seen that face? She is a little doll. She rarely barks, shes completely housebroken and crate-trained and shes not a picky eater. She doesnt tear things up, either. She will let you love on her just as much as you want to, and if youre patient, she might just give you a sweet little kiss. Lyric needs a patient family that will be her faithful supporter and cheer her on each step of the way. Shell be worth it.
UPDATE 2/18/09: Lyric is a sweet, shy lady just waiting for the home that will give her the opportunity to blossom. Shes very reserved, but as you gain her trust, shell show you how she loves a good ear rub and back scratch. She enjoys playing with her 4-legged foster siblings.
Lyric is approximately 4 years old and was sent to us by a local Humane Society as she is very shy and wasnt doing well in getting adopted because of it. Lyric is doing much better and becoming braver as she has flourished in her foster home. Lyric is considered a reverse brindle and is ready for her new home.
