Description

3/11/08: Today Opal lost her battle with intestinal issues & was gently sent to Rainbow Bridge. Run free, sweet baby!
Opal is very shy, and has tummy issues right now. Opal will be staying in foster care until she is feeling better and puts on a few pounds. She is a sweet girl and we?ll let you know more about her when she settles in.
From the vet visit today: She is 30 lbs. Our vet estimates 2-3 years based on placque on the
teeth. Humane society vet estimated 11 months. She has (Coccidia and Guardia) and
worms. Our vet wants to see her in two weeks to see if everything is clearing up, unless other issues come up. I don?t think she?s had too many litters. When her spay is done, we will get a better picture of how many litters she did have. We need to wait on the spay until she is feeling better and has put on a few pounds.
FOSTER HOME UPDATE: She is still having tummy issues. Her stool sample came back clean, so it seems that she is now just fighting the damage done to her intestines. She is on a steamed rice and chicken diet for now. She eats very well. She is 28 lbs, and is estimated to be 1-3 years. Opal is still very shy, but likes me now and is getting better with my husband. She just loves the other dogs and really wants to play with them. I?m hoping she improves, she is such a nice little girl.
