Description
Our poor old "Pawpaw", Dudley, died on Dec. 2, 2008 of an apparent heart attack. We were devastated but are thankful that Dud went out on his terms and did not suffer. That sweet old boy was probably 9-10 years old at best guess, which was a typical Boxer life span...just not long enough for OUR boy. Run free, Dude.

ADOPTED
Dante is a 3 year old flashy brindle male that came back to rescue after his adoptive home decided that they could not manage an active young dog.

UPDATE FROM HIS NEW HOME: Dante, now Dudley, is continuing to do well, although he is still settling in as expected. He seems to have a touch of SA, but nothing major. Of course, why WOULDN’T he be anxious when one or both of us leave? He’s only been shuffled around 3-4 times in the last 10 months, and that’s all WE know about! Bless his heart.

He and Wylie are doing VERY well together, and they seem to enjoy each other’s companionship. I think they’ll grow even closer over time. No scuffles or skirmishes (but we watch them pretty closely, just in case!). He’s a sweet, sweet boy, and we’re very thankful to have him. He really does have many traits similar to our little Cocker, Fergie. They’re probably not uncommon things, but none of our other dogs do these things or have these traits. I’m pretty sure Fergie also had a white haw on one eye, which made her look "gotch-eyed" occasionally. Dudley has that, has the tongue out of the mouth thing AND wallows around on his back in the floor. These are all like Fergie... Joe is quite taken with him, and vice-versa. Janita & Terry told me that Dudley seems to be a man’s dog, and that’s pretty apparent here. :-)

BIG NEWS...2003: Dudley qualified through the Delta Society’s PetPartners’ Program and is now a registered "therapy dog". He has visited his first retirement center and really loved all the attention. How many times can you call a dog "sweet"? We have advanced from beginning obedience into higher levels and have been asked to demo exercises (the RIGHT way!) for the entire class. Dudley really loves to please.
