In MEMORIAL
Polly was a 7-8 year old flashy brindle female that was dumped in a high-kill urban shelter by her unfeeling owners. Though Polly had a wonderful spirit and lots of love to give, Polly was a high heartworm positive and was having trouble breathing. After a night in one of our wonderful foster homes where she was loved and cared for, Polly has been sent to the Rainbow Bridge where she is once again young and healthy and can breathe without difficulty.
We add Polly to this page to reinforce our policy about year-round heartworm prevention and even though it is freezing now, it only takes one infected mosquito to infect your dog. And it also reinforces to all caring dog owners that it is our responsibility to care for these animals and do what is right by them; and not dump them in shelters to suffer and die among strangers. Run free sweet Polly; and may your story help save another.
