GRANT ~1997 - 10/31/2005
We are heartbroken to report that Odysseus "Odie Bear" (formerly known as Grant) passed over the rainbow bridge. He gave us the most best 4 years that we could have ever spent with a dog and we are just devastated to lose the most amazing dog we ever loved. We were so luck that his Odyssey to his forever home brought him to us. I know we were meant to be together.
X-rays showed a mass and bleeding into his abdomen, with a diagnosis of a ruptured hemangiosarcoma and a poor prognosis. We were
devastated, but after weighing the options decided that he really deserved to go to Dog Heaven instead of putting him through major surgery that wouldn’t likely improve his outcome. He died in our arms knowing we were with him and that we loved him very much.
I knew that it would be hard to lose such an amazing dog, but it’s much worse that I had anticipated. I cannot imagine how life can go on without him in it. His sisters Iris and Scarlett the Cocker Spaniel don’t really know yet what has happened, but they will miss him so much. Tomorrow we will get his ashes back to take him to the park where he loved to hike with us.
If anyone knows how to make this stop hurting so bad, please let me know.
