Miss Eliza Jane crossed the bridge on 1/15/10. EJ was an amazing dog who will be very missed. It is very sad when their lives end much too soon. But she was loved and cared for till the very end. Eliza Jane left a hug paw print on my heart!
UPDATE - 10/5/09:
Miss Eliza Jane has been doing wonderful in her foster home. She enjoys evening walks around the neighborhood and car rides, even if it is just to get gas! Although she is very selective on whom she wants as her friends, she did go to Three Dog Bakery for the Blessing of the Dogs. There we had a talk with the priest about her and being too bossy with other animals. She needs to be nice to others if she wants to earn those angel wings! Eliza Jane needs a home with a family who has experience with Boxers and is not looking for a dog park dog. She would do great as an only dog or living with a little male dog.
Update 14 Sept
In just the few short weeks that Eliza Jane has been in her foster home, she has turned into a sweet, funny boxer girl. She still does not enjoy her kennel and will try to break out if given the chance. She has even started using toys to help with her break outs! But once she escapes, she goes and lays on the sofa. She loves to play with her foster brother, a mini schnauzer. She also enjoys a good ol fashion boxer romp with her two boxer fosters siblings. Eliza Jane enjoys short walks and sun bathing in the backyard.
Update, Aug 27:
Eliza has been wonderful in her foster home. She is living with 2 boxers and 2 pushy little dogs and has been great with them. But, I think the perfect home for Eliza is one where she can be the only dog, or a male dog she can boss around! Eliza has great manners, she is always walking around the house with a smile! She does well in her kennel -- not a big fan of it, but she will go in it. Eliza would be great for a home who is not wanting to deal with the puppy stage! This sweet girl is house-trained, does not chew on anything other than toys, knows sit, lay and bed time! Eliza is happy lying at your feet watching TV, likes going on walks and enjoys evenings sunning in the backyard!
UPDATE 8/25/09: Due to a change in her owners lifestyle and work schedule, Eliza has been returned to our program. Eliza is now about 5 years old. She is in a foster home, and we are assessing what her specific needs are for her new, forever home. Elizas status will be updated as her foster finds out more about her.
