UPDATE: Just look at Wally now!! Isn’t it amazing what a couple of months of love, good food and indoor living can do for a dog?!?! Wally looks just fabulous and is doing great in his foster home. A home with a six foot privacy fence and no kitties is what we desire for Wally’s forever home. Now, Wally on the other hand has visions of a home FULL of kitties to chase.
UPDATE: Wally is doing great in his new foster home. He’s pretty curious about the cat in the home, so we are going to suggest that he go to a kitty-free home. He is also proving to be one smart cookie. Wally needs a home that is going to work with him and teach him things. He has an abundance of energy and smarts. He will be happiest with someone that is active and and can keep this guy entertained. He’s a great snuggler and loves people. He will also need a secure yard as he’s already figured out how to flip the gate latch in his foster home.
UPDATE: Wally is doing well following his heartworm treatment, but so far he is not too thrilled about being around other dogs. We think this is a by-product of his being chained up in his backyard. Poor Wally’s only interaction with other dogs have probably NOT been positive experiences. He appears to "want" to be friends but just lacks the proper socialization to know how to behave. He would do best as an only dog in a secure fence as he will go under a fence if it’s loose.
Wally was abandoned along with several other pets when his family moved. Wally has spent much of his life tied out in the backyard with no shelter. Unfortunately, due to his lack of care, Wally also was infected with HeartWorm. He will begin treatment shortly. Wally appears to be around 2 years old and just a big lover. His face and ears have been chewed up by the flies and he has scabs everywhere. He was very patient as we cleaned him up. Wally appears to get along with other dogs, but heÂ’s had limited exposure. Could you be the one to win this big lug over and make up for all the hurt heÂ’s suffered?
