Emma was probably only 3 or 4 years old; but heart problems are such a problem in this breed. She was in a loving family from June 04 thru March of 07.
Her heart finally gave out. She had aortic stenosis and last time we went to the vet they said her murmur was better, but her heart beat was very irregular. She was doing great, and all of the sudden she was down. She was a great dog and I appreciate the opportunity and experience the Boxer Rescue gave us. We had her 2.5 years and she was a great dog.

Emma is a flashy reverse brindle female that is approximately 10 months old. She came to us from a local shelter as she is much too timid to be placed by them. EmmaÂ’s socialization is coming along nicely in her foster home. She is now coming to her foster mom for attention (loves ear rubs & rib scratches) & play with her. Emma is one busy girl & plays goes non-stop. Luckily, sheÂ’s good at amusing herself after she wears everyone else out. :) She is crate trained & housebroken. She is still nervous around new people & new experiences but is very sweet & silly once she feels safe. Emma does do well with children one-on-one, but a busy, hectic home with alot of small children is probably not for her. A basic (group) obedience class & a fenced yard (physically, not underground) will be required to adopt. An active, outgoing male dog in the home will help Emma as she will be as people social as the other dog as she does not want to be left out.
