UMA ~1/1/03- 2/2004 In Memory
Unfortunately, Uma’s foster home helped her to the Rainbow Bridge, as Uma just could not make the transition to a home, and being deaf, it was even harder to correct the behaviors she had acquired as she learned to survive. "I don’t think she was ever able to get over the trama of fending for her self, especially with out being able to hear the world around her. She was loved a ton by the family that adopted her and was given three months of love, attention, and not having to worry about the cold and where/when her next meal would be. I hope she is playing peaceful with Miss Boo and finally feeling at peace."

Uma is a 10-12 month old white boxer puppy that had been running stray for quite some time before some kind hearted folks took pity on her and took her to a local humane shelter. Uma is deaf and it is a complete miracle that she was not hit by a car while loose. She did have a wound on her head of unknown origin, but that has now been taken care of. Uma overall is fairly healthy, but needs some TLC. She is up to date on shots, heartworm negative and spay. A home with a physically fenced yard, a male dog that will help be her ears; and willingness to spend some time with her (though she is very smart and does know some signs) is required. Homes with small children would not be a good match.
