You don’t seem to have many white Boxers – is that because they’re rare?
No. Our numbers of white Boxers in rescue are pretty well on target with the averages for the breed itself. White Boxers are not rare; they account for about 25% of the entire Boxer population. Although white Boxers are no different than a colored Boxer other than in appearance, they sometimes have health problems and concerns (such as deafness and skin/sun sensitivity) that typically do not affect colored Boxers. Up until about 10 years ago, many breeders did cull the whites, but that practice has changed dramatically and is not as commonplace any more.
